Flight Auckland
Auckland, the City of sails
Auckland is a flourishing city and the nation’s economic and industrial capital. It is often considered to be to New Zealand what Sydney is to Australia. The city offers spectacular landscapes as it is surrounded by volcanic ridges and more than 50 isles. With its impressive harbor, Auckland is the ultimate sailing destination. Fittingly known as the “City of Sails”, Auckland welcomes sumptuous yachts and prestigious regattas which have contributed to its nautical reputation.

Auckland, the art of a pleasant life
A city that’s wild at heart
Always listed among the world’s most liveable cities, Auckland nestles between volcanoes, islands and beaches. Although it’s New Zealand’s largest city, it’s a pleasant size to explore. Book a flight to Auckland and get ready to try stand-up paddle on Takapuna Beach or to discover your talents as a surfer off the sweep of black sand that is Piha Beach. If you’re a morning person, head out hiking on Rangitoto, one of Auckland’s extinct volcanoes. You’ll walk among lush landscapes and be rewarded with a panoramic view over the city. Back from your escapade, discover Auckland’s village-like side with an afternoon at Devonport.

A love of sport
After taking the city’s pulse, set off to see the symbolic sights of New Zealand. As well as a plane ticket to Auckland you’ll need a ticket to see the Auckland Blues in Eden Park: rugby is the country’s main sport. Your holiday in Auckland will also take you to Harbour Bridge if you’re up for an adrenaline rush, you’ll be bungee jumping off the bridge. Continue on towards the Waterfront. You can admire the bay from here, and hop aboard a sailing boat to discover why Auckland is known as "the city of sails".

Culture and fun, the perfect combination
To find out more about the city’s history, head to the Auckland Domain, the city’s largest park, and visit the Auckland War Memorial Museum. The oldest museum in the city, it presents archives, objects and works of art. But Auckland’s heritage is also about leisure and fun. Booking your travel to Auckland will naturally lead you to the famous Sky Tower. From a height of 328m you can admire the view over the whole region, and then head back down to test your luck at the casino. Have fun with the family at Auckland Zoo, among the 135 animal species who live there, from tigers to zebras and elephants.

A short 15 minute ferry ride from the city centre you will find one of Auckland's loveliest spots. Devonport is like a little village, a far cry from the tall buildings of the city centre. In fact, this is one of the oldest suburbs of Auckland.
It's a great place to spend a day, wandering among the streets where you will find charming little cafés, restaurants and shops. You can also visit the beaches that surround the village, and admire the fine view over Auckland Bay.

A volcanic island, Rangitoto lies just off the coast of Auckland. In Maori language, its name means "blood red sky", in memory of a bloody battle with the tribe who lived there, long before the English bought the island in 1854.
Since 1890 it has been a nature reserve. Instantly recognisable with its conical shape, the island is 5.5km wide and is easily visible from Auckland.
On the island you can hike up the volcano for a magnificent 360° view, visit black lava caves, explore the island's coastline by kayak, and much more.

This establishment serves up great food all day long, in the dining room or in the courtyard if the weather is fine.
This places is a simple and authentic spot, much like New Zealand itself. As for the food, you'll find a range of fresh, regional produce on the menu. Several dishes which appear on the menu pay homage to Maori culture: something to try and perhaps discover some new flavours.
