COVID-19: AIRCALIN ADAPTS SERVICES

In view of the health crisis linked to covid-19, Aircalin is implementing the necessary measures to guarantee you a safe journey. You can find these measures under the  "Aircalin FlyCare" Program, which is updated regularly.

MANDATORY TO WEAR A MASK

Wearing a surgical mask is mandatory during all stages of your journey, from check-in to the final destination, for all passengers travelling on a flight operated by Aircalin.  Washable masks and/or masks made of fabric are not authorized.                                                                            

 

For your personal comfort, we recommend that you bring several masks for your trip. 

AT THE AIRPORT

DEPARTURE

At the airport, measures have been put in place to guarantee optimal health and safety conditions for your journey:                        

  • Hydro-alcoholic gel dispensers are available at various airport points.
  • Reorganization of check-in and boarding to minimize contact. Displays, announcements and floor markings are used as reminders of the distancing measures.            
  • Wearing a mask from check-in to boarding.                    

In order to decrease your waiting time at our check-in desks, we recommend that you check-in online. This is available from 30 hours before your departure.

 

At the Hibiscus Lounge at Tontouta Airport. For health reasons, newspapers are no longer available. A Hydro-alcoholic gel dispenser is available to passengers at the entrance to the lounge.                              

 

ARRIVAL

Prior to disembarking the aircraft, announcements are made to facilitate disembarkation.

 

In the baggage arrival hall, displays, announcements and floor markings remind passengers of the distancing measures.

 

Hydro-alcohol gel dispensers are available.

ON BOARD

WEARING A MASK AND HYGIENE

Wearing a surgical mask is mandatory for all passengers travelling on board a flight operated by Aircalin. For your comfort, a health kit with mask and wipes is offered to you upon boarding.  

                                             

As the cabins are disinfected prior to the flight, our crew also spray passengers' hands when they enter the cabin with hydro-alcoholic gel on flights departing from Japan.                                                                    

To protect our crew and passengers, protective equipment (mask and gown) is worn and crew frequently use hydro-alcoholic gel.                 

CLEANING OF THE CABINS

The daily cabin cleaning procedure is enforced before each departure.                                                                          

To ensure complete disinfection, a virucidal product is sprayed in the cabin and manually applied on contact surfaces.                                                                                        

This virucide is certified for aviation, approved by Airbus and approved by the New Caledonian Health Authority.

AIR QUALITY IN THE CABINS

The filters used on all Aircalin aircraft are the latest generation air filters, with very high efficiency and absorption capacity*.  

                                                             

They renew the air in the cabin every 3 minutes, filtering out particles, viruses and bacteria to 99.97%.    

 

The filtering complies with the highest health standards for operating theatres.

OUR SERVICE ON BOARD IN ALL CABINS

In order to limit contact and handling between passengers and flight attendants, our in-flight service offer has been modified in all cabins and the service reduced.      

                                                                                 

Medium-haul (2 to 4 hours) and Long-haul (more than 4 hours) flights

  • We limit movement in cabins and prefer to offer snack packs in Economy class.
  • Individual drinks are preferred.
  • Bar areas are no longer set up during the flight to avoid handling.
  • In response to health recommendations, we have suspended the offer of printed press and the sale of Duty Free items has been modified. 
  • To reduce contact, we have stopped distributing printed menus on board.

TO NEW CALEDONIA:

The application decree n°2021-1201 dated  17 septembre 2021 is stating the following  for all passengers of 12 years old and over wishing to travel to New Caledonia : 

 

- travel is only possible for imperative personnal, family, health, or work reason that could not be delay. They need to make them known by filling the requested form to get the authorisation to travel  ;

- they need to provide a sworn statement:

- testifying that they will accept a covid 19 test  (test PCR-RT, antigenic test or autotest realised by a medical staff) on their arrival in New Caledonia  ;

- they need to provide the address where they will proceed to their  seven or forteen days quarantine at home. Some controls might be realized during this period ;

- testifying that they will accept a covid 19 test  (test PCR-RT, antigenic test or autotest realised by a medical staff) at the end of this period ;

- all the passengers will need to provide the proof of a  full  immunisation scheme  realized with one of the Covid 19 vaccines authorized by the European Commission :

- for the“ COVID-19 Vaccine Janssen ” : 28 days after the injection of one dose ;

- for the other vaccines: 7 days after the injection of the second dose,  except for the persons that have contracted the covid 19 virus, benefiting of  one dose only and this delay occuring after one dose only.

- for the passengers from 12 to 17 years old, or with medical contraindication listed in the decree n°2021-699 1rst June 2021, they will need to provide a negative PCR test realized 72h before departure or an antigenic test realized within 48h before travel. 

 

 Aircalin will deny boarding to passengers who do not present one or the other of these documents.

  • Travelers over 11 years old must provide proof of a negative Covid 19 PCR test carried out within 72 hours before boarding (PCR test only). It is mandatory and will be requested upon boarding.
  • Travel authorisation is subject to imperious reasons only : medical, work or family
  • Wearing a face mask is mandatory before, during and after the flight, including during check-in and bag collection.

TO FRENCH POLYNESIA :

 

PCR test   

All travelers are subject to the 3 mandatory conditions for non vaccinated passengers ( health, family, work):

 

  • Provide proof of a negative Covid 19 test  carried out within 72 hours before boarding. It is mandatory for all passengers of 11 years old and over and will be requested upon boarding.

 

Passengers vaccinated or immunised ( by a serologic test) : 

  • No quarantine needed
  • Covid test performed on arrival

Passengers not vaccinated or not immunised : 

  • 10 days of mandatory quarantine in Tahiti in a dedicated structure ( at the passenger charge)
  • Covid test performed at Day 0, Day 4 and Day 8

While boarding at Tontouta airport, all passengers will be requested  to present for boarding : 

- approved ETIS certificate (for vaccinated passengers) or conditionnal ETIS (for non vaccinated) with their authorization to board from the French Polynesia Authority received 2 days before departure

- Provide proof of a negative Covid 19 test   carried out within 72 hours before boarding

TO AUSTRALIA :

 

All travelers are subject to the mandatory conditions:

 

  • Wearing a face mask is mandatory before, during and after the flight, including during check-in and bag collection. 
  • From 22 January 2021, if you are travelling to or transiting through Australia you must provide evidence of a negative COVID-19 (PCR) test translated both in french and english to your airline, taken 72 hours or less before your scheduled departure. The translation of the document must be requested at the test center while doing the test.

The passengers travelling to a non french country and requested to show a negative covid 19 PCR test for their travel, need to make sure to have a both french and english translation of the test. The translation of the document can be requested at the test center.
